How to view an Instagram account that blocked you
Type their username into the box above, with or without the @, or paste a link to their profile. If you no longer remember the exact handle, look in an old DM thread, a mutual friend's tags or comments, or a screenshot.
Press View profile. You get their profile picture, name, follower and following counts, and a grid of their 12 most recent posts, photos, carousels and Reels included.
Tap a post to open it full size or save it. Under the profile there is a link that takes the same username to our Story viewer, where you can see any Stories they posted in the last 24 hours and their Highlights.
Why a blocked account still shows up here
A block works on accounts, not on the profile itself. When someone blocks you, Instagram hides them from your account: their profile says "User not found" or "No posts yet", search comes up empty, and your messages stop arriving. Their profile doesn't change for anyone else.
This page looks at Instagram without being logged in, the same view anyone gets in a private browser window, so it isn't you as far as Instagram is concerned. If their profile is public, the posts are there. It is also why the profile can look completely normal here while it's blank in your app.
What you can see, and what you can't
For a public account: the profile picture, name, follower and following counts, the latest posts and Reels, the Stories of the last 24 hours and their Highlights. Our Follower Viewer lists up to 50 of their followers.
For a private account: nothing beyond the name and picture. A block also removes you as a follower, so a private account that blocked you shows its posts only to people it approves. No tool can get past that, whatever it promises; the ones that say they can end in a survey, an app download or a form asking for your password.
Messages, likes and comments are out of reach either way. The block stops your messages, and nothing on this page sends anything to them.
Blocked, or did they deactivate?
From your side, a block and a deactivated account look the same: the profile is gone. Looking them up here tells the two apart. If the account shows up here but not when you search from your own account, that's the clearest sign of a block. If it can't be found here either, the account was deactivated, deleted or renamed, and it has nothing to do with you.
Our Instagram block checker walks you through that comparison step by step.
Why not just use a second account?
That's the usual trick, and it often doesn't work. When someone blocks you, Instagram offers to block "new accounts they may create" too, so an account you make afterwards can be blocked before you even use it. Making accounts just to look at someone can also get them flagged as spam.
A logged-out view involves no account at all, so there is nothing to block and nothing to flag. If the account is private, a second account would have to send a follow request, and they would see who it came from.
Will they know you looked?
No. Instagram doesn't tell anyone who visited their profile, and looking here doesn't involve your account at all. Stories and Live videos are where Instagram does show who watched. Opening their Stories through our Story viewer doesn't put your name on the viewer list, because it isn't your account looking.
A block is still a clear message. Looking at a public profile is up to you, but contacting someone through new accounts after they blocked you goes against Instagram's rules and can get those accounts removed.
Looking for the accounts you blocked?
That's a different list, and only Instagram has it. Open your profile, tap the menu in the top right, and under "Who can see your content" tap Blocked. Everyone you blocked is there, with an Unblock button next to each name.

Frequently asked questions
Can I see someone's Instagram if they blocked me?
Yes, if their account is public. A block hides them from your account only. Enter their username above and you see their profile and latest posts from a logged-out view, without signing in.
Will they know I viewed their profile?
No. Instagram doesn't show anyone who visited their profile, and this page never touches your account, so there is nothing to connect the view to you.
Can I see their Stories after they blocked me?
Yes, if the account is public and they posted a Story in the last 24 hours. Use the link under their profile to open it in our Story viewer. Your name won't appear in their viewer list.
Can I view a private account that blocked me?
No. A block also removes you as a follower, and a private account shows its posts only to followers it approves. No website or app can get around that.
Is this an Instagram block ID viewer?
Yes. People also call it a block account viewer or block ID viewer. It is the same thing: you type the username of the account that blocked you and see its public profile.
Can this tell me who blocked me?
No. Nobody outside your account can know that, and tools that promise a list of who blocked you are guessing or asking for your password. What you can do is compare: if an account shows up here but not from your own account, that points to a block.
Do I need to log in or install anything?
No. It works in any browser on iPhone, Android or a computer, without an Instagram account, and it's free.
