Why vaporwave text is wide
Those letters are fullwidth forms, built so Latin characters could sit on the same grid as Chinese and Japanese ones. Each takes up a full character cell, which is exactly the stretched look the vaporwave aesthetic borrowed in the first place.
Because they are ordinary characters from a long-standing block, they are among the most reliably rendered styles here — no combining marks, nothing to clip.
Spacing costs you characters
The spaced-out styles insert a real space between every letter, so a twenty-character line becomes forty. Instagram's bio limit is 150 characters, which a spaced-out sentence reaches surprisingly fast.
The wide fullwidth letters do not have that problem — one character in, one character out — so they are the better choice when you are close to a limit.
Frequently asked questions
Will the wide letters wrap oddly?
They take roughly twice the width of a normal letter, so lines wrap sooner. In a bio that is usually fine; in a username field it is irrelevant, since handles do not accept them at all.
Can I combine aesthetic text with emoji?
Yes. Emoji pass through the converter untouched, so you can type them into the box along with your text.
Is there a spacing style that does not eat the character limit?
Use the wide vaporwave style instead of the spaced-out one — it looks stretched without adding a single character.
